Ludic RPG Immersive Play Experience
The journey begins

The journey begins

I don’t really know where to start, or what to say, or in which order.

It has been two years since my friends and fellow players suggested that I share more of what I create for our games and sessions. I spent a year thinking about how to do it, and now it is finally taking shape under the name Ludic RPG.

After a long break, I got back into tabletop RPGs about four years ago. I first ran Pavillon Noir (a historical, realistic pirate game) and later C.O.P.S. (a police RPG set in a dystopian future). This time, I started building DIY setups: using a TV screen under the table, creating props, and designing visuals for my sessions. That was probably the moment when all these ideas started to merge and take shape.

Last summer, I picked up a stock of seventeen RPG books from a closing shop. When I opened the box, I decided to begin with Alien RPG, 1st Edition. While reading, I was not fully satisfied with the campaign, but I was in awe of the system and the quality of the props included in each module. So I decided to completely rewrite the Heart of Darkness campaign.

Alien RPG

Alien RPG was an easy opportunity to bring technology to the table. So I started small. I built a motion tracker app for phones, then a map visualizer to explore layouts and encounters.

From there, ideas just kept growing. I wanted to create tools that feel invisible during play, something that enhances immersion instead of pulling players out of it and making the GM’s burden heavier. It became less about making software and more about designing experiences that connect storytelling, visuals, and interaction.

That was the spark to ignite Ludic RPG. A space where I could share these experiments, projects, and ideas as they evolve.

I don’t know exactly where I’m going, but I love RPGs, and I’ll keep writing, playing, and crafting like I always have.

Only now, I’ll share it with you.

Thank you for reading!
